Garrett Henritz. Age 29. Born on February 25, 1982 in Baltimore, MD to Donald Henritz and Darlene Vranas. Has played drums for over 20 years. Played in such bands as (form earliest to latest): The Unidentified, Steakhouse, Martini Henry, Bedroom Walls, The Alchemist Element, Elroy Leroy and most recently Fol Chen. A list of influences range from Mitch Mitchell to Jon Theodore to Bill Beuford to Zach Hill and many more in between. The early years of Garrett’s life were spent performing in school concert and jazz bands. At age 18 when it was unknown where to take the instrument finding a teacher was important. From 2000 to 2005 Garrett studied with Baltimore’s own Grant Menefee. With a primary focus on power many other things were honed in on during these years with Menefee. “I learned a lot about control and becoming one with the objects that strike the drums for us ( i.e.- drum sticks and kick pedals) during my time with Grant.”
